The Gadung ‘Festival Series’ is a new handpan series that is in the cheaper segment, and was born from the desire to offer a qualitative alternative to the many cheap, badly build handpans that were offered to me to retune. What is the difference with the Gadung ‘Concert Series’? The Gadung ‘Concert Series’ has a longer production process and has a number of extra features that the ‘Festival Series’ does not have: the Gadung ‘Concert Series’ has a tuned Gu (the hole at the bottom) and the edge under the rubber edge is rounded off so that it can also be played comfortably without a rubber edge. The edge of the ‘Festival Series’ is a bit sharper and may look a little less finished under the rubber edge. It is recommended to play the ‘Festival Series’ with a rubber rim. The Gadung ‘Concert Series’ is therefore just a slightly more luxurious version. The Gadung ‘Festival Series’ is a great alternative when the extra features are not (yet) important, and offers the quality and service that Gadung is known for!
